Every notification has a channel and an event type. Pick what matters, mute what doesn't. We default to push for speed, SMS for backup, email for archival — but you decide.
📞 Phone call · only for "order ready" if push & SMS fail · 60s delay
Channels off above mean we'll never use them. Per-event-type overrides below.
Order lifecycle
Pings about your orders
When you order from a truck, here's how we keep you in the loop. Each row is a moment in the order; pick which channel(s) you want for that moment.
Event
📲 Push
💬 SMS
📧 Email
Order placed
Receipt + estimated time. Sent to you immediately.
Vendor acknowledged · "cooking"
Truck saw your order and started prep. ~1 min after placing.
Order ready · come get itCRITICAL
The big one. Default = push + SMS so you actually see it.
Substitute requested
Truck ran out of bacon · accept onions instead? Time-sensitive.
Order picked up · receipt
Final receipt, tip-add-on prompt, optional rating.
⚠️ "Order ready" defaults to push + SMS — the only event type with two channels by default. You can dial it down, but most folks are mid-festival when this fires and a single push gets missed.

✓Friend-meetup exception — if a friend sends "meet me here," override quiet hours
SMS-only at night — between quiet hours, downgrade everything to SMS
Festival mode — disable quiet hours when I'm checked in at a festival
When you order
Outbound · how the vendor gets pinged
When you place an order, we ping the vendor too. The vendor's own settings (set in vendor-account.html → Notifications) control how — push to the cook's phone, SMS to runners, email to ownership.
You can override this per-order at checkout in order.html — for example, force SMS to the vendor if it's a slow Tuesday and they might miss the push.
Default · let the vendor choose (recommended)
Force SMS to vendor for orders over $50
Force phone-call if order placed within 30 min of close
